What's in the classes?

Classes run in 6 week blocks. â€‹

Suitable for complete beginners or if you are returning to practice.

You will learn -

* the basic hatha yoga postures - lying, seated and standing.

* safe alignment and how to link movements with breath.

* how to use props such as yoga blocks.

* how to breathe properly and how it effects physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

* simple mindfulness techniques such as body sensing and breath awareness to calm the nervous system.

* how to ground and centre yourself using visualization, intention setting, breathing and yogic hand gestures (mudras).

Each week will build on the previous class, giving you the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the postures, gaining greater confidence and self-awareness.

Class structure

Each class will take the form of:

* grounding and settling to begin either lying or seated, loosening tension and connecting to breath,

* slowly building up to more active standing postures and mindful movement to gently energize the body and build strength and stability,

* winding back down to the ground for more restful, restorative postures, breathwork (pranayama) and lying relaxation (savasana).

The pace of the class is slow and mindful with space and time to adjust to the movements so they feel accessible for your body. Variations and modifications are offered where needed with 1-1 attention.

The practice will stretch the whole body and mobilize all the major joints. Camilla will encourage you to listen to your body in a safe and supportive environment.

Heather - Brighton

Camilla’s depth of practice is evident in her direct and practical teaching style. She creates a calm, meditative atmosphere using music and her voice. There is a lovely mixture of grounding, challenging and relaxing techniques, and we are all encouraged to practice safely whilst exploring our physical boundaries.
I look forward to Camilla’s classes. They are a special, calm, caring interlude in my week.

Tina - Brighton

I have absolutely loved the course and will definitely be rejoining. I have enjoyed taking time out for myself. I have  had a stressful time with my mum who lived with us before moving into  a care home.

I have loved the time to reflect and move on each week.

I thought I would struggle with a lot of the poses / moves but you paced the course well and make things achievable.
