What to expect in class

Grounding and centre

 

Classes usually start off low to the ground either seated or lying focusing on body sensing/ body scanning and breath awareness or short breathwork practice. This helps to slow down the busy mind, connect with the body and become present. 

Warming up

 

Gently warming up the joints and improving mobility we work on some lying, seated and kneeling postures using a combination of joint rotations (eg. hips, shoulders, wrists), with fluid movements and traditional yoga postures guided by the breath and what feels right for your body. We also work to activate the core and joint stability.

Foundations and Flows

​

The practice evolves into calmly energising the whole body with some slow flowing sequences such as sun salutations with some variations, standing postures such as the 'Warrior' and balance postures such as the 'Tree'. These brings strength, stability, mindful focus and calm energy. Classes vary each week with some postures repeated to gain confidence and familiarity. Options are given throughout and space and time to adjust for your body or if you are working with an injury.
