Service Description
Try your first class out anytime within the current 6 week term. Gentle and welcoming class - the perfect place to start if you are new to yoga or are returning to practice and looking for a slower, kinder pace. Learn the foundations of a yoga practice including ways of moving that help release tension and stiffness whilst developing better mobility, flexibility and strength. We will practice a variety of lying, seated and standing postures, syncing movements with breath, learning safe alignment and also learning how to modify postures so they feel right in your unique body. Learn how to breathe properly through simple breath awareness and gentle guided breathing exercises and why it is good for physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. Each class ends with ample time to lye down and experience deep relaxation helping to release stress and promote calm. The only requirement is that you need to be able to get up and down off the floor without assistance, be okay with some kneeling and not have debilitating pain when lying down. For these circumstances a chair yoga class or a 1-2-1 private lesson may be more suitable. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more about private lessons. Clear instructions are given with lots of options and modifications along with 1-2-1 guidance where needed in a friendly, welcoming and supportive environment.
Cancellation Policy
Bookings: Block bookings are for 6 consecutive weeks. Classes cannot be carried over. Camilla is unable to refund any missed classes. Once you have purchased a block booking, a single drop in class or a trial class you may cancel up to 24 hours in advance. Unfortunately Camilla is unable to offer refunds for cancelled classes any later than this. Please allow around 5 days for the refund to appear in your account. What to bring: Yoga mat, small cushion and blanket. Arrival info: Please arrive 5 - 10 minutes before the class starts to get settled. The main door will be locked at the start time. Unfortunately Camilla cannot let anyone in late. Locations and where to find the class: Hatha Yoga at Old Boat Community Centre - class is in the main sports hall. The centre itself will be closed. Please wait outside the front of the centre by the big black doors which will be open 10 minutes before the class starts. Beginners Yoga Balfour School - class is in Key Stage 1 Infant School Hall. Free parking is in the main Primary School which is a 1 minute walk to Key Stage 1 School. Posters will be displayed to help guide you to the yoga class. What to wear: Comfortable loose clothing or leggings. It is advisable to wait at least 2-3 hours after eating a big meal before practicing yoga A small piece of fruit before class is okay. Please let Camilla know at the start of the class if you have any new health issues or injuries.
