Join Camilla and be welcomed into your local,  friendly community class where you will be guided safely and clearly in the practice of yoga.

Mindful yoga is a slow paced class practiced with mindful attention to breath and body sensations helping to deepen felt sense of body/mind connection.

We practice the classical hatha yoga postures -  lying seated and standing, along with innovative and modern variations that help you discover your body's strength, release stiffness and improve mobility and flexibility.

There is a mix of restful, restorative postures and techniques, along with more challenging ones.

You'll be encouraged to follow the principles of yoga by listening to your body and working safely within your physical boundaries, finding ways to release tension without being forceful or grasping.

Classes are themed with a particular focus eg; hips or shoulders and/or a philosophical theme to deepen self-inquiry.

Each class often starts or ends with a short guided breathing practice to calm the body and mind and plenty of time at the end to fully relax lying down in śavāsana (relaxation posture).

The principles of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras are applied to the practice such as 'ahimsa' (non-violence/kindness) and 'pratyahara'

(withdrawing of the senses/focusing inward).

Please note: This class includes time spent lying, sitting, kneeling and moving between the floor and standing. If you're currently unable to get up and down from the floor independently or experience significant pain when kneeling or lying flat, this group class may not be the most suitable option at this time.

If you're unsure, please get in touch before booking—I'm always happy to discuss whether the class is right for you or whether a private session would be a better place to start.

Louise - Brighton

I joined Beginners Yoga with Camilla about six months ago, to help with managing my long standing lower back issues and my general flexibility.

I really look forward to the sessions on Monday evenings. Camilla fosters a warm and welcoming environment, talking us through the Yoga moves and making suggestions for adaptations to suit everyone's physical abilities.

My lower back is greatly improved since starting the regular Yoga sessions and my flexibility is gradually improving.

The sessions always finish which a lovely relaxation session, which sets us all for the rest of the week. I highly recommend Camilla's Yoga sessions.

Meditation in Nature

Julie - Brighton

I have been thoroughly enjoying Camilla's classes, they are just what I needed for my back problems.

The yoga I was practicing before was quite fast paced which was fine until I started to experience the back problems.

Camilla's classes have made me feel confident to get back into yoga and I instantly felt calm and nourished after the very first class, and was more aware of what I could and couldn't do.

Camilla explains positions in depth, something I think I stopped concentrating on when the classes I went to were fast paced. The group are lovely, a very welcoming environment to lose yourself in for an hour or so.

Rolling Up Yoga Mat

Sheila - Brighton

Camilla’s Mindful Yoga class has been the perfect reintroduction for me back into yoga after many years. Camilla delivers her skilful yoga instruction with kind, calm & gentle energy to every person in the class.

Camilla takes great care to create a stress free and harmonious environment for the yoga session and she is there to personally welcome every person as we arrive to the venue on a Monday evening after a busy day.

Since starting Camilla’s yoga class a few months ago, I can feel my strength & balance improving every week. Camilla encourages all participants in the class to build their yoga practice at a safe and comfortable pace, this is so reassuring and confidence building too!

Often in mindful activities, I can experience intrusive thoughts regarding work or other things I need to do. In Camilla’s class, I experience happy memories popping into my consciousness, making me feel happy relaxed and energised at the end of each session. Thank you Camilla, you are a wonderful instructor and I am so happy to have found your class.
